Detour Without the Passcode
In a world much like our own, there existed an invisible lifeline that few remembered. This lifeline, a mysterious extension cord, connected every human to an unseen, omnipotent source. Newborns arrived with the cord glowing brightly, a pure, untainted connection. But this unique sight was a gift for children until they reached the age of seven.
Persin, a curious and vivacious child, spent her early years marveling at the beauty of these glowing cords. She would watch in awe as they intertwined with where she originally came from, a network of lights that danced in the air. However, as Persin approached her seventh birthday, the cords began to fade from her sight. The once-vivid lifelines started to blur, and by her seventh birthday, they were gone, vanished into thin air.
Like everyone else, Persin completely forgot about the existence of the cords as she grew older. The grown-ups around her seemed oblivious to their absence. They went about their daily lives, entangled in a web of invisible connections they no longer saw. These adults, having forgotten their powerful direct energy lines, attached additional ties to themselves, desperately seeking strength from one another. They believed these entangled relationships were essential for survival, a lifeline in a world that almost everyone lived their lives drained of energy, angry at one another. They went about blaming those closest to them. By the time most individuals reached the age 30, the invisible giant pile of cords each person carried with them were miles long, with their direct connection’s strength weakened to a dying buzz.
As Persin grew older, she found herself caught in the same cycle. The adults around her attached their expectations and needs to her, draining her energy and leaving her burdened with a weight she couldn’t see but could always feel. She spent years trying to navigate the complexities of these relationships, feeling the constant drag on her spirit.
Persin’s first struggle came in the form of her parents’ expectations. As she grew into a teenager, the weight of their demands pulled her in different directions. They insisted on academic excellence, pushing her to the brink of exhaustion. Her mother, a once-passionate artist who had long since forgotten her own dreams, projected her unfulfilled aspirations onto Persin. The pressure to succeed, to be perfect, weighed heavily on her, and the guilt and responsibility tightened around her like a vice.
At school, Persin faced the relentless demands of her peers. They too had forgotten their own connections, latching onto her in their search for validation and acceptance. She became the confidante, the shoulder to cry on, the one who shouldered the emotional burdens of those around her. The constant need to support others drained her energy, leaving her feeling hollow and spent. She wanted to help, but the more she gave, the more entangled she became.
PerSin’s friendships became another source of struggle. Her best friend, Liora, was deeply enmeshed in her own insecurities and fears, seeking solace in Persin’s energy. The weight of their friendship grew heavy, as Persin felt responsible for Liora’s happiness. The constant reassurance and emotional support bound her tightly, leaving her with little energy for herself.
As Persin transitioned into adulthood, societal expectations wrapped around her, tightening their grip. She felt the pressure to conform, to fit into the mold of what society deemed successful. The pursuit of a stable career, financial security, and social status drained her energy, leaving her feeling disconnected from her true self. The weight of these expectations made her question her worth, as she struggled to meet the demands placed upon her by a world that had forgotten its true connection.
In her romantic relationships, Persin faced yet another set of struggles. Her partner, Ethan, was also enmeshed in his own unresolved issues, seeking solace in Persin’s energy. He relied on her for emotional support, often turning to her to fill the void left by his forgotten dreams. The weight of their relationship grew heavy, and Persin found herself constantly trying to restore balance and harmony. But the more she tried, the more entangled they became, leaving her feeling drained and disconnected.
The final struggle came in the form of her own self-doubt. Persin questioned her worth, her purpose, and her ability to break free from the tangled web of expectations that bound her. She felt responsible for the hardships of those around her, believing that she needed to carry their burdens to keep them afloat. The doubt and fear tightened around her, suffocating her spirit and dimming her light.
But deep within, Persin remembered a faint sense of something pure, a nagging thought she couldn’t quite place. The desire to be free and reconnect with that elusive feeling persisted.
One evening, after a particularly frustrating day at work, Persin found herself alone in an empty room, venting her anger out loud. She had been getting ready to attend a seminar all week. As her luck goes, her boss assigned the most annoying colleague as her partner for the week. This guy lived and breathed to get under her skin. She was already very short after two days of rehearsing with him.
Last nail on the coffin was when she returned from a bathroom break only to find that her almost dead phone was unplugged and his phone was charging, with an already 70% juice left in it! She lost it but knew better not to give him any more material and the joy of seeing her all flustered.
He once again undermined and disrespected her, dismissing her feelings with a casual, “I was just joking, you are too sensitive.” As she paced back and forth, she muttered to herself, “I have been doing all I can for this ungrateful asshole and I am feeling sick to my core! Connect your phone once again by unplugging my dead phone and I will seriously hurt you!” In that moment of raw emotion, a distorted, buzzing image of a cord appeared briefly right before her eyes. She held her breath, thinking to herself “Ok, I am finally losing it”. But she had goosebumps and her entire body tingled in an odd yet very familiar feeling. It was almost, soothing.
Persin was stunned by the experience and spent the following days trying to recreate it. She repeated all sorts of combinations of the words she had said during that cloudy moment, but with little success. Her determination, however, did not go unnoticed. Invisible helpers of the universe arranged for someone to show up in her life in the most fantastically orchestrated way.
Seminar went ok, better than she expected but there was this one other woman whose presentation caught her attention. There was some part in it which was particularly interesting in her line of work. But the way it was delivered was nothing like she had ever seen before. She had this urge to find her and ask her a lot of questions. She was always a curious person but the level of intensity she was feeling at that moment made her felt alive. Something she hadn’t felt in a very long time.
She finally found her. This complete stranger was a very kind person and patient. She answered all her questions with grace and an enthusiastic depth of knowledge. Although feeling a bit silly, Persin mustered up the courage to ask about that specific part in the presentation. This lovely stranger laughed. She said she never did anything like that before either. She was so humble to say that she actually ended up coming up with the idea by mistake. She said “You see, I was practicing at a location I usually do not go to. My friend invited me to his office a few weeks back. It is one of those high rises where there are a lot of businesses. After he showed me around and right before we were about to head out for a concert, his phone rang. He rolled his eyes and said he had to take it, “my boss” he sighed.
I ended up waiting for my friend longer than he said it was going to be. He was kind enough to take me to an empty part of the building with a lot of meeting rooms so that I could at least wait comfortably. One of these empty rooms was laid out perfectly for presentations. This floor was still under construction and none of the rooms had doors. I had my laptop with me so, other than just sitting there I decided to practice for my presentation. I have no idea how or why it happened, I don’t think it can be explained either, I’d rather show it to you, what do you say? Persin was getting more confused and excited by the second. She nodded yes while watching her scroll through videos on her phone. She handed the video to Persin with a grin on her face.
As Persin watched the recording, she noticed a simple detail—a poster on the wall with a date that matched the day she had first seen the blurry vision. But as the video kept playing, she completely stopped watching it, cause in disbelief, she realized the building too. This was the building where she worked and the floor she always ran to whenever she needed a break from others. Video had already stopped and the woman already took it back from Persin’s motionless hands and frozen body. Persin was almost in a trance. This kind stranger’s voice brought her back “Um, are you ok there sweetie?”
She gasped in shock and almost snatched the device from the stranger’s hand to replay the video and increase the volume. At the exact right moment, where the presenter took a pause in the video, Persin’s faint yet very angry voice could be heard in the background, pacing and venting by herself.
The presenter was completely confused, while Persin was in tears of awe and relief. She tried to explain to the presenter without much success, as she was still in shock and trembling with excitement. She asked for permission to listen to the recording again, clumsily took out piece of paper and a pen and wrote down the words. She gave this woman a huge hug and just mumbled “I am so sorry but you might have just saved my life, I don’t know why yet but if feels that way. Please forgive me for being weird but I’ve got to run” She ran outside the building while repeatedly saying thank you.
She did not even remember how she made it home. She had been dying to recreate that moment. It was not so much about that glowing tangled cables but the feeling. The feeling she had not feel since childhood. She started practicing the first chance she got, making all sorts of combinations from the sentences. She spent weeks and countless sleepless nights.
Eventually, Persin said the phrase “core connect,” and the cord became visible, shining in its ethereal glory and solidity. With newfound clarity, she realized that she had the power to cut these cords, to reclaim her connection to the Source. In that moment everything else muted, she was still in her body but she felt weightless. In what felt like a split second, all the annoying chatter, voices and ramblings in her stopped and she just knew.
With trembling hands, Persin picked up a pair of large shears. She could see how all of it looked strange and someone watching her would have thought that she was gone mad. But when all the doubt, fear, confusion lifted, she also knew that she had to do this ritual of cutting the cords with a pair of scissors.
She hesitated, the fear of the unknown gnawing at her, but the desire to be free, to reconnect with the Source, was stronger. With a resolute breath, she began to cut.
Each tie she severed brought a wave of liberation. The weight lifted from her shoulders, and she felt the energy flow back into her, vibrant and pure. She could finally see her own connection, glowing brightly, directly linked to the Source. The realization was profound: she had always had enough energy within her. The burdens had been a false belief, a weight she never needed to carry.
Persin’s transformation was immediate. She felt alive, full of energy, and determined to share her newfound truth with the world. She made it her life’s mission to teach others to cut the ties of dependency, and to start enjoying their direct and powerful cords.
As she spread her message, the world began to change. People discovered their own connections, and the tangled webs of dependency slowly unraveled. No one was stealing another’s power anymore. They had all they needed all along. The anger and dysfunction that had once plagued humanity began to dissipate, replaced by a sense of peace and unity.
Persin’s journey, born from doubt and fear, had led to a profound awakening. She had found her way back to the Source, and in doing so, she had illuminated the path for others to follow. The world was brighter, more connected, and alive with the energy of their true origin.
And so, in this alternative reality, humanity learned to embrace their true connections, casting off the weight of dependency and finding the strength within themselves. The burdens that once bound them were forgotten, and the source shone brightly for all to see.
